I-5/French Camp Interchange and Sperry Road Extension Project The proposed project includes reconstruction of the Interstate 5/French Camp Road interchange, extension of Sperry Road from Performance Drive to French Camp Road, and relocation of Manthey Road. There are two build alternatives. The “Full-Build Alternative” includes the interchange and auxiliary lanes, an eight-lane Sperry Road extension, and relocation of Manthey Road. The “Reduced-Build Alternative” is the same as the Full-Build Alternative, but with only four lanes on Sperry Road. Both build alternatives would be designed to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. The build alternatives would reduce existing and projected traffic congestion by providing increased capacity, improve route continuity and reduce travel time and delay by improving east-west access to Interstate 5, thereby reducing demand on north-south roadways such as El Dorado Street, McKinley Road, and D\Airport Way; and improve freeway operations by increasing capacity at the French Camp Road interchange and constructing auxiliary lanes between French Camp Road and Downing Avenue; and improve traffic safety by reducing congestion in the project area. The project is located in San Joaquin County. The Project limits on Interstate 5 are from the Interstate 5/Downing Avenue Interchange to 600 meters (2,000) feet south of the Interstate 5/French Camp Road Interchange. The western project limit is approximately 365 meters (1,200 feet) west of the Manthey Road/Henry Long Boulevard intersection, and the eastern project limit is approximately 180 meters (590) feet east of the Sperry Road/Performance Drive intersection. A public workshop has been scheduled for 6:30pm, April 5, 2006, at Great Valley Elementary School, 4223 McDougald Boulevard, Stockton, California. Following is the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the I-5/French Camp Interchange and Sperry Road Extension Project. Environmental Impact Report:
